Sweding is putting you in something you like

With this sentence, you can picture the thing and if I write more, then I will ruin the pleasure of discovering Be Kind, Rewind's universe.
First of all, the title: Be Kind, Rewind! It just sounds great. Gondry's uncopiable style is all there. But this time, he is not talking about love, which I like cause he has quite something with love (see ESOTSM). Main subject is cinema itself which may be risky but then his talent comes into play to deliver a great message about making your dreamt life/ way of living come true. In the end, it makes a rather positive movie, especially about the US. Again I enjoyed this a lot from a French point of view.
About the actors, Jack Black is just crazy as always, but the revelation here is Mos Def, yeah the rapper! I am so glad for that guy, he is simply good in the movie. In a word, new Gondry's movie is great, you should watch it asap!

Yashica forever

Also stolen from me last weekend, my beloved Yashica T5 offered by my parents in 2001 as a X-mas present. This camera is so out-of-date in this all-digital era that I can not picture myself what the hell the guys that robbed it are going to do with it.
Though its Carl Zeiss lens made it a perfect tool to feed the geek that lies within me.
Anyway, I want to make sure its memory will remain.

Bye bye ipod + Nikon

Some of you may not like the photos I share on my picasa.
For the few ones that consider there is something of me in them (which is already a massive compliment to me), you will have to live without new ones, for a certain period of time at least (weeks/ months?). Indeed, I was stolen my lovely Nikon D40 last weekend and I miss the thing a whole lot.
The bastards also stole my brand new ipod and the keys to my house.
Let's celebrate their absence in my life with a last eye-blink.

Buddha Machine

On this celebration day, I have also recieved after having ordered it from Boomkat record store (UK) my Buddha Machine made by FM3.
This thing is just incredible, so lo-fi and lo-tech and dispending so much pleasure to anyone that will use it at the same time.
This is a purely analogic synthetizer pocket-size with a limited to 9 number of loops.
It has a built-in loudspeeker and makes your iPod so out-of-date by producing cool electronic warm sounds just like it were working at it own will...

Today we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the CDDA, a.k.a. Compact Disc Digital Audio, or compact disc or CD [sidi]. Indeed, on February, the 28th 1983, was sold for the first time ever in France a Compact Disc. It contained a recording of The "Symphonie Alpestre" written by Richard Strauss and conducted by Herbert von Karajan! Simply an amazing plot in time for all music lovers...
Take a minute and think about the following statement: people wanted free music and they were offered digital (dematerialized) music.

Jean Michel Jarre

J'ai eu la chance de voir en concert Jean-Michel Jarre le 21 décembre 2007 au Théâtre Marigny.
Ce concert m'a tellement abasourdi par sa beauté que je n'arrêtais pas de me dire: faut que tu en parles sur ton blog, d'autant plus que tout le monde le prend pour un ringard (ce que je ne conteste d'ailleurs pas!), mais comment parler du truc?
Maintenant je sais!
D'abord, le contexte: il y a 30 ans, en 1977 donc, sortait l'album Oxygène, qui se vendra à 12millions d'exemplaires en pleine période punk d'un côté et disco de l'autre, et que la BBC a élu album du XX° siècle! Jarre a remis la main sur les synthétiseurs qui lui avait permis de réaliser cet album à l'époque et il a décidé de les installer sur la scène du Théâtre Marigny pour y interpréter Oxygène dans son intégralité. Fabuleux!
Assez de texte, la photo parle d'elle même par la désuetude et la mélancolie qu'elle dégage à l'aire des ordinateurs portable...
